I could not figure out how to take a picture of the article via the computer so I used my camera instead. But you will get the gist of it anyway. I will post the article as well. I sent the article to various family members and friends. Got some nice replies about it.

Member of Month CVCC
It was September of 2010 when Stephanie Jones Good became a member of CVCC. When purchasing a Canon camera at London Drugs the woman selling her the camera suggested she check out CVCC , telling her it was a great place to learn about her camera. In the past, Stephanie had been a member of a photography online forum where she was able to showcase her photos. She enjoys CVCC for the opportunity it has given her to meet new people. The photo shoots have also been a way to discover new places her and husband David would not have discovered on their own, places such as Shield’s Junk Yard and Newcastle Island.
Stephanie is also a newer resident of the Comox Valley, coming here from Vancouver 2 ½ years ago. Prior to that Stephanie lived in Canmore, Alberta, but was born and raised in Montreal.
A semi-retired artist, Stephanie has had an in-depth career in the arts. Stephanie has been doing art since she was a young girl of eight years when she took classes at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. She studied all mediums of art including cartooning, film making, painting, and batik, to name a few. After high school, she attended Visual Arts Centre, a private art school in Montreal for three years, in Applied Arts and Design, majoring in Textiles. Over the years Stephanie has always dabbled in some form of art, whether quilting, painting, drawing, fiber arts, or ceramics. While in Canmore, Stephanie did some banner work on commission for the Yoga Association of Alberta, as well as other organizations. For many years Stephanie designed and made quilts, but says she ‘no longer has the patience to make them anymore.’ Although, she still does make them on a much smaller scale, creating practical items such as little bags and paint brush holders. For many years Stephanie experienced an ‘artist block,’ not unlike the ‘writer’s block,’ but has recently picked up the paint brush again after a 30 year hiatus, and soon hopes to get drawing again as well. She says part of the reason to come to the Comox Valley was to get the creative juices flowing again, which seems to be happening. Here in Comox, Stephanie is a member of Pearl Ellis Gallery where she shows her work during Member’s shows. Her goal is to continue developing her art in painting/drawing, as well as photography. This is definitely one artsy woman!
With such an extensive career in the art world, it is not a wonder that Stephanie was drawn to photography. While living in Canmore in her early 20’s, her ex-brother in law sold her a couple cameras, his Practika and Pentax 35 mm cameras, as well as several lenses. These were the screw mount types which she loved, especially the tele-converter and telephoto lenses. Since then she has purchased several different cameras but only purchased her first digital camera a few years ago. She maintains she ‘has been hooked ever since.’ While living in Canmore, Stephanie was taught by a professional photographer who gave up his lunch hour to give her photography lessons. Her ex-brother in law also gave her photography tips to help her along as well. She is drawn especially to macro photography, taking pictures of flowers and anything rusty. She also enjoys photographing scenery/landscape images. To check out some of Stephanie’s photos or painting she does have a blog which can be found at: http://sjodesigns.blogspot.com .
Aside from all the art that Stephanie does, she also enjoys gardening, jigsaw puzzles, walking, and cooking/baking. She also likes to travel and has been to destinations such as Barbados, Jamaica, Vermont, and some parts of Canada. Finally, Stephanie admits that they are ‘owned’ by two lovely cats, Harry and Marley! I so understand this last statement!

Hmmm, I wonder if you should put this in "About me" on the bio page here on the blog.

What an extensive profile, Stephanie. I have learned more about you in this one reading than I have throughout the last (two?) years of following your blog. My pets have always owned me so I fully understand how Marley and Harry have got you under their respective paws. I agree that this bio would be nice under an About Me section. Since you will be posting daily, you might want to consider submitting a post occasionally to Our World Tuesday for more exposure. Meanwhile, I look forward to following the visual journey you have embarked on. :)
i think it would make a nice bio on your blog profile too! congratulations! also Happy New Year! Look forward to seeing more of your creations in 2012!
Stephanie, to answer your question I use Lightroom and Photoshop Elements. Formerly I used only Elements but this summer I purchased Lightroom which lets me make my photos look so much better but still natural. Adding a little black really makes colors pop. If I want to do certain kinds of cropping I export the photo to Elements where I can also use filters for unusual effects, frames, borders, etc.
I read your article and it sounds like we have a lot in common. I studied Interior Design in college and from there moved onto sewing, weaving, dried flowers and more. Now I concentrate on art quilts, photography, crochet, jewelry making, polymer clay and fabric sculpture.
That's a real nice write up on you, Steph. Congrats!
A very nice bio, glad to hear that you have picked up the brush again.
