This is the path to the garden/yard where we live. I used HDR on this one. I love the Birch trees as they remind me of youth growing up going to our summer cottage north of Montreal. I was looking out our bedroom window and saw these birds eating the apples. My husband went to get the bird book and discovered they were Varied Thrush. We both went running for our cameras, I took this with my 100 mm macros lens, not bad through a dirty window. Hubby had the 300 mm lens.

The deer was 15 feet from the front door. I had put out the apples from the back yard to where the deer was standing. He seemed to enjoy eating them till I got his attention with my camera.

It seems cruel to post a photo of a Rhododendron bloom in January when the rest of Canada especially east of here is in frigid temperatures. But it is what it is, we are experiencing mild temperatures here in the West Coast, and the Rhododendrons are blooming outside on the front lawn. I had finished this painting back in the spring, did not spray it as I was not happy with it. I worked on it some more this month to the satisfaction to my husband and I am not happy with it still. I worked on another photo taken at a farm near Union Bay. I used the trial version Photomatix. I need to order the program soon so that I can lift they photomatix watermark on my photos. It shows up when I print them up. It is a very easy software to use. However, I had my heart set on Nik HDR software but it is way out of my league in costs.

Here are some photos of the new space for the Comox Museum that shares the same space as the Pearl Ellis Gallery. Hello everyone! Here are a couple of shots taken at Filberg Park in Comox. I was very busy these last few days preparing my works for the Annual Photography Show at Pearl Ellis Gallery. Today is the start of the show. On Saturday afternoon at 1pm is the Reception to meet and greet the artists.

Yes a rented garden. We are renting the house here so naturally we have the use of the yard and garden. I have spent the last few days weeding and still lots more to do. Last night was a nice evening, so after watering the garden I set out to take some photos. With hubby working on my days off, I may start taking the public transit to parts unknown in search of new spots for photographing.

My husband and I went with the Camera Club to Port Alberni to take the Steam Train to MacLean Mill on Saturday. We went on a photo shoot with other camera clubs of Vancouver Island yesterday, was great fun being back at the Shields's Junk Yard again, met at White Spot for lunch, afterwards to the Airpark in Courtenay to continue on with the shoot. The weather was nice and warm. This is one of my favorites.

During my stay in Victoria, I visited my favorite coffee shop and book store. I picked up a copy of "This Old House" Victoria's Heritage Neighborhoods-James Bay. I walked all over James Bay looking at all the heritage houses in the area, did take a lot of photos. Some are for painting ideas down the road. Had a great time and the weather was good too!

We went for a walk to this spot today, fully intend to go down the new steps leading down to the beach. But once I got to the top step, I immediately started getting dizzy and nausea.
